The Wall Street Journal made an excellent point when sorting articles into "red" feeds or "blue" feeds. It is interesting to see framing so clearly written and read every single day. The interesting part about framing when it comes to politics is that the public does not seem to car that much when the article is framed. Like the exercise we did in class, most of us had to dig for keep words that lead us to believe it was swaying the reader a certain way. In the world of politics we sort ourselves into a label and look for the framing so that we are okay with what we read.
The article Political Polarization goes into how liberals and conservatives go to where they know their feed will be what they want. This article itself is a little framed to for a certain political side itself. This is the problem with the news and the public. They both think they need to go to an extreme when talking about issue. It is in fact when people go to extremes that problems occur. Now how to we get people to compromise? To listen to each other? Well some say that is too idealist, but I would rather aim for that than everyone be fine with fighting each other in a non-constructive way.
Hi there -- please add a label so we know who you are. Thanks!
