In reading this article I found that the experiment conducted was intriguing. I found it interesting that participants didn’t believe they would be affected, yet the studies proved differently. I believe this is the case because people let their guard down because as the article states, they are not interested. Meaning that because they think they show no interest it won’t effect how they feel about persuasive messages. Also, the fact that people who were less interested showed more effect, shows more vulnerability. To me, this is like when you tell someone "no" or that they're not allowed to do something. It only makes the other person do the complete opposite. I believe that it is in human nature for people to go against others or against themselves, while in the process of not knowing that they are succumbing to the in the other parties' favor or argument. Yet people are entitled to their own opinions and those opinions can be easily molded by the third person effect.
