3. Most common evidence would be mental illness, racially motivated, self-hatred. Another major factor is the difference both white people and black people are portrayed in the media. White people are shined in a “more prefect light”, while black people are shunned with negative publicity. White people settle for mental illness, while black people are directly “linked” to drugs and street crime. 4. "Commitment and Consistency ", "Social proof", are pieces that we found to correlate to at least one of our articles. In terms of commitment and consistency we would link it to shooters who are self-loathing and are looking to make an image for themselves and become famous. They don't care about the consequences. "Social proof" would be in the instance of the media blowing everything out of proportion, which leads to more and more shootings since people are then influenced to do the same. 5. You know the bias of the publisher almost immediately in most cases. Just reading the article title will give the reader a sense of bias most of the time. In the case of the article "Black shooters are called terrorists and thugs, why are white shooters called mentally ill?" you can see that they are targeting a specific group, which is white shooters. The media likes to create a divide among people because it means more money for them. Liberal news sources will be direct and very to the point within their articles while conservative news sources tend to be more careful about the words they choose. 6. We don't think that there is anything that can truly be considered a "neutral frame". No matter what the case is or what the source is, there is going to be some sort of bias, whether it is in the article or it is something that the reader takes away from the article.
