9/11/2001

9/11 was an incredibly tragic event that struck fear into the hearts of Americans- it is a day that none of us will forget. After the attacks in 2001, it seems like everyone (especially the media) suddenly started to pin Middle Eastern people as terrorists. The media really shapes the way we think about tragedies like 9/11. For example, September 11th is definitely referred to as a "terrorist attack" by both the general public and the media. However, whenever a white man opened fire in Las Vegas on Sunday night, killing over 50 people and injuring hundreds more, the media does not want to call the clear act of terror a terrorist attack. They didn't call the man a terrorist, but rather decided to highlight his wealth, his gambling and his hunting habits.
