September 11^th is a date that America will never forget. It installed a new fear in the American people and an even bigger fear towards people that even looked like they could be from the same place. Due to the attack, people’s mentally and behavior towards Middle Eastern changed drastically. Suddenly, people are being picked out and accused of being a terrorist still today. Media headlines were telling the world who the terrorists and communicating to America that everyone that looks like them is at all. The media made everything so much worse and only highlighted and overexaggerated the negative. They gave the worst details about the terrorists lives and primed America to believe the same about other people from these countries. However, with previous attacks the media changes what we think about the attackers. Such as the shooting during the midnight premier of Batman, the media did not pin the attacker as a terrorist. The media portrayed him as a someone “you would have never expected”. It is sad how much media can influence the way we think about the attackers and their race/religion/background.
