Not So Social Social Media

Social media has become a big part of society making most people have the perception that everything they post has to be perfect. They have to say the right things and post the best pictures, everything has to be on fleek for the gram. The perception that we should present our ideal selves rather than our real selves has become more and more prevalent on social media platforms, meaning we only show what we feel we should be and not what we really are. This is mainly due to societal influences that are driven by competition, achievement, and status.

A lot people compare themselves to other people and are afraid to show who they really are on social media. Hence, the pressure to create an ideal persona for social media.
